6th Annual Catch Restaurant Oyster Festival in Support of Cancervive
CALGARY, August 7, 2008 – On Saturday, August 9th, Catch Restaurant & Oyster Bar will host its 6th annual Oyster Festival. Always an incredible event – this year, Oyster Fest will have the power to change lives.
In addition to a Celebrity “Shuck Off” and an exclusive vintner’s dinner, the festival will feature a Silent Auction in support of Cancervive, a non-profit organization established to raise awareness and support for Canadian cancer survivors and their families.
Catch Oyster Bar will open its doors at 4:00 p.m., to ticketed guests only, for a feast of BBQ oysters, oysters on the half shell, other fantastic nibbles and Big Rock beers. Cheer on both professional and celebrity shuckers as they compete in the Oyster Fest Shuck Off.
At 7:00 p.m., guests with tickets to the Mission Hill Wine Dinner will be welcomed into the Dining Room for cocktails followed by an incredible four-course tasting menu prepared by Catch chefs and Mission Hill Family Estate Winery.
Throughout the evening, all guests are invited to browse through the items at the Silent Auction on the Atrium level. Los Morenos will keep the festival atmosphere humming as bidders sip on scotches and wine. Silent auction items include a jersey signed by Lance Armstrong. Ballots close at 10:30 p.m.
While tickets are limited, two options are available for purchase:
Admission to the Oyster Bar events with access to the Silent Auction – 100 tickets, $25 each
Mission Hill Wine Dinner tickets with access to the Oyster Bar events and the Silent Auction – 50 tickets, $150 each.
Donations for silent auction items are welcome and greatly appreciated!
Please call 403.206.0000 to participate.
About Cancervive
Through hope, inspiration and commitment, Cancervive works in support of those living with and surviving beyond cancer. Their flagship event is the Cancervive Peloton Project. A peloton is a closely packed group of cyclists riding together for the benefit of their team – and in this case for the benefit of all cancer survivors. The 30 riders in the Cancervive Peloton leave Calgary on August 12 to arrive in Philadelphia, 3800 km later, on August 21. It is Cancervive’s goal to raise funds to host up to 30 cancer warriors, who will be flown from Calgary to Philadelphia to meet with the team and unite with thousands of other participants from around the world to take part in the LiveSTRONG Challenge charity event on August 24.
